Graduated 2007 Bachelor of Science - Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
From the age of twelve I knew I wanted to be an engineer. My family can report stories of how I tinkered and disassembled, in order to explore how to reassemble pretty much anything I had in my hands. Most of the time it wasn’t anything noteable, just toys and gadgets, except for the day I took the grill off the family Bronco. Unfortunately for my dad, I was a little too young at the time to figure out how to piece it back together. But as I grew, I found this increasing desire to figure out how things fit together and function effectively. Pursuing an engineering education was always on my radar. I married my high school sweetheart a year after graduating high school and my goal became her goal. I worked a building and remodel business with my dad while attending classes, and starting my own family. It took some grit and determination to see my engineering degree to frution, but we did. Every experience throughout that season culminated to form my opinion that anything can be figured out if we don’t give up; a mindset that has proved to been beneficial for me in both my personal and professional life.
History
The history of Ruby Creek started with this man, Lonnie Creekmore. In 1951, he and his wife Minnie purchased farmland in Porter, Oklahoma to run his inheritance of cattle. It was the same year Lonnie and Minnie welcomed their fourth grandchild into the world.
Lonnie passed away New Years Day 1978 joining his wife in eternity, and leaving the family land to their middle daughter, Ruby Dorthene Creekmore.
Dorthene, as she preferred to be called, moved to the farm and was joined on the family land by her daughter Susan who was the grandchild born the year Lonnie bought his farm. Susan and her husband’s children were the first generation to be raised on the family land from birth.
Their daughter became my wife in 1999 and we have been blessed to welcome and raise all four of our children on this family land, the fifth generation to live here and the second generation to be raised here.
In 2015, I gave a black lab puppy to my wife for her birthday. She named our puppy Ruby Sue after her mom and grandma, becoming the perfect mascot for our family’s business.
Ruby Creek is a tribute to my wife’s grandma and great-grandparents who left us a beatiful legacy for our family to carry to future generations.
